2024/2025

Current season

In the UEFA Conference League, our team started its journey from the 2nd qualifying round, facing the well-established Israeli club Maccabi Haifa. In the first leg, Sabah secured a convincing 3:0 away victory against the strong opponent, gaining a significant advantage before the second leg. The regular time of the second leg ended with a 5:2 score in favor of the opponent, leading to extra time. Both teams scored one more goal each in extra time, so the winner was determined in a penalty shootout. Our team, playing more accurately in the shootout, eliminated the strong opponent and advanced to the next round for the second consecutive time in their second European campaign. This was the first victory in a penalty shootout in the history of Azerbaijani club football in European competitions. In the next round, Sabah faced St Patrick's Athletic from Ireland and lost both matches (0:1, 0:1), ending their journey in the Conference League.

2023/2024

European debut

Sabah made a successful start to its first-ever UEFA Conference League campaign, eliminating RFS of Latvia. The "Owls" won the first leg away with a score of 2:0 and then secured their place in the next round with a 2:1 victory in the second leg at the Bank Respublika Arena in Masazir. In the next round, the 3rd qualifying round, Sabah faced the well-established Serbian club Partizan. They won the first leg in Masazir convincingly with a score of 2:0. However, the second leg in Belgrade ended with the same scoreline, this time in favor of the opponent. Sabah was eliminated after losing in a penalty shootout. Overall, Sabah finished its first European campaign with 3 wins and 1 loss. The 2023/24 Premier League season was also successful for the team. Sabah finished the intense season in 3rd place, earning a bronze medal, and qualified for the European competitions for the second consecutive time in its history. Anatoli Nuriyev and Davit Volkov were the team's top scorers in the national championship, each scoring 6 goals.

2022/2023

Historic Season

The 2022/23 season marked a new chapter in the history of Sabah FC. The team, which garnered admiration for its brilliant performance in the national championship, finished the season in 2nd place with 81 points, earning a silver medal, which was the first medal in the club's history. The team also qualified for the European competitions for the first time in its history - the UEFA Conference League. Joy-Lance Mickels, who scored 17 times, became the team's top scorer for the second consecutive season.

2021/2022

Same position, more points

In the 2021/22 season, Sabah repeated its previous season's result. The team finished the championship in 5th place, just like the season before, but this time with a higher point tally of 41. The team's German striker, Joy-Lance Mickels, was our top scorer in the 2021/22 season with 11 goals.

2020/2021

5th place with 29 points

Sabah finished the 2020/21 season of the national championship in 5th place with 29 points. Ramil Sheydayev, a member of the Azerbaijan national team, was the team's top scorer that season with 6 goals.

2019/2020

Unfinished season

The 2019/20 season of the Azerbaijan Premier League was prematurely suspended after 20 rounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the time of the suspension, Sabah, with 21 points, was in 6th place in the league table.

2018/2019

Debut in the Premier League

The 2018/19 season marked Sabah FC's debut in the Azerbaijan Premier League. In their first top-flight match, the team faced Keshla away and secured a victory with a score of 1:0. Marko Dević scored the only goal of the match from a penalty. This match went down in the club's history as both their first goal and first victory in the Premier League. Sabah FC finished their debut season in the top flight in 7th place. Experienced striker Marko Dević (Ukraine) was the team's top scorer in the 2018/19 season with 8 goals.

2017/2018

First steps

Sabah Football Club was founded on September 8, 2017. In the 2017/18 season, Sabah FC, competing in the First Division, finished the championship in 5th place. As our club fully met the licensing requirements of AFFA (Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan), it earned the right to play in the Azerbaijan Premier League from the next season.
