The season has concluded with the final match of the Azerbaijan Cup. In the decisive game, Sabah faced Qarabağ. The match took place at the Mehdi Huseynzade Stadium in Sumgayit. Our team opened the scoring when Pavol Šafranko successfully converted a penalty in the 35th minute. In the 42nd minute, our goalkeeper Stas Pokatilov saved a penalty awarded to the opposition.
Just before the end of the first half, Qarabağ equalized. In the 67th minute of the second half, they took a 2–1 lead. However, in the 5th minute of stoppage time, Kahim Parris scored to level the match and push it into extra time.
In the final moments of extra time, Tellur Mütəllimov netted the winning goal that secured the Azerbaijan Cup for our team. This marks Sabah’s first-ever title in the club’s history.
