Our team will face Moldova’s “Petrocub” in an away match tomorrow within the framework of the UEFA Europa Conference League second qualifying round. Head coach Valdas Dambrauskas has shared his thoughts ahead of the match:
“We are expecting a very interesting match. We've analyzed how the opponent plays and watched their recent games. They are a very organized team with a defensive mindset. Their players are compact and know exactly what to do on the pitch. In my opinion, they play a bit differently at home and away. At home, they press more and try to engage in one-on-one battles all over the pitch. In away matches, their tactical approach is slightly different.
In European competitions, there are no clear favorites. You always have to give your all, because anything can decide the outcome at any moment.
Of course, we haven't come here just to play. I believe 'Sabah' has reached a level where we should be aiming to win every match, regardless of where we play. That’s what we will try to do.
The two matches we played against 'Celje' gave us valuable insights into our game. We saw our mistakes and identified what we need to improve. As always in European football, results are determined by small details. You step onto the field and fight, but in the end, it's the little moments and mental focus that decide the game. I hope this time everything will go our way.”
The Petrocub – Sabah match will kick off tomorrow at 21:00 Baku time, and it will take place at Zimbru Stadium in Chișinău.
