Sabah played its first match of the new Misli Premier League season. In the 2nd round of the championship, our team faced Shamakhi away. The match, held at the Shamakhi City Stadium, ended with a 2:1 victory for Sabah. After the game, our head coach Valdas Dambrauskas shared his thoughts on the match:

"I congratulate the Sabah family, the management, and our fans who traveled far with us on this victory. We knew we would face a very tough opponent today, and it turned out exactly as we expected. I can say that any team coming here will face a well-organized side. Shamakhi, in particular, plays very carefully in defense. That’s why, to win here, you need to give your maximum on the pitch.

We started the game very well. This goal was something we had worked on a lot during training throughout the week. In the first half, we also had other chances, but we couldn’t take them. In the second half, the opponent scored a beautiful goal. However, I really liked the reaction of our players after conceding. With the introduction of our new players, the team gained fresh energy. We scored the goal we needed and earned an important victory.

Now we must forget this game. Starting from tomorrow, we will begin preparations for the next match".


It should be noted that the 1st round fixture between Sabah and Qarabağ was postponed due to Qarabağ’s participation in European competitions.
