A landmark match for Sabah and Mickels

In the 2nd round of the Misli Premier League, the match between Shamakhi and Sabah saw the earliest goal of the season. Our forward Joy-Lance Mickels opened the scoring in the 38th second, registering the fastest goal of the campaign. Mickels also set a club record by scoring the earliest goal in Sabah’s history.

The German striker, who netted a brace in the game, has now reached 40 goals in the national championship with Sabah. He became the 9th foreign player to achieve this milestone in the history of the Azerbaijani league.

Overall, Mickels has scored 52 goals in 110 appearances for Sabah.

It should be noted that the Shamakhi – Sabah game ended with a 2:1 victory for our team.
