Sabah U-19 played the second leg of the UEFA Youth League second round at home against French side Nantes (1:2). After the match, head coach Adino Mustedanagić commented:

“In the first match, we made a few individual mistakes, which also influenced the final score. During the preparation for the second leg, we focused on correcting those mistakes. Moreover, this time we already knew the opponent much better. Nantes have players with very high individual quality, and as a team, they possess solid experience in matches of this level. Throughout the year, they play many such games.

In this match, we gave opportunities to five players born in 2009. The game against Nantes was invaluable experience both for these young players and for the rest of our team.

As for the match itself, I must say that despite the difference in experience, our team fought well. We also had some good chances, but unfortunately, we managed to convert only one of them. Both of Nantes’ goals came from penalties. However, in one of those situations, our player clearly played the ball, and in the other, there was a handball by the opponent before the foul was called. In any case, the decisions were made, and nothing can be changed now. What matters is to take the experience we’ve gained from these matches and focus on our future games.”
